My recursive writing process has transformed over the duration of this course. As a result, I feel a lot more confident in my writing abilities with the tools I have learned in English 110. I hope to carry these tools to other courses in order to write more effectively. For example, one revision technique that I really liked was peer reviewing. I felt that this helped me narrow down what was really important in my essay and I was able to get rid of things, like sentences, that weren’t essential to my main ideas. I also developed better drafting strategies, such as free writing to get all my ideas down in my free draft, then going back and finding what’s important. I also found that outlining what my paper should look like beforehand was really helpful for when it was time to write. I hope to bring my active reading strategies, drafting strategies, revision and polishing strategies along with me to other courses throughout my time here in order to write strongly.
